Cyborgs . . .

Yesterday, as I walked through the halls of a hospital to see a patient, I observed one employee after another walking around with Blootooth earpieces and mikes, or simple headphones and boom mikes. They were talking to no one visible, and they began to follow the instructions of some invisible master. I've seen the same thing as I walk down the street; people staring straight ahead and conversing with the air. In some cases, where their hair covers the earpiece, it appears as though halucination has become pandemic.

Have cellphones become the first step toward being the "Borg?"
